Located 200 km north of the Arctic Circle, Inuvik serves as the vibrant regional hub of the stunning Beaufort Delta. This area is the traditional homeland of the Inuvialuit, Gwich’in, and Métis peoples, enriched by a diverse, multicultural community from around the world. Western Arctic Regional Visitor Centre:

If you have never visited the area before, then a quick stop at the Western Arctic Regional Visitor Centre will provide you with all the information you need. Located on Mackenzie Road as soon as you enter town, the Visitor Centre contains many interesting exhibits on art, flora and fauna, neighbouring communities and wildlife. You can also pick up your official Arctic Circle Adventurer Certificate here. The Centre is open from June to September and hosts weekly events based around Northern culture.

Getting Here

The Arctic Circle Inn is located 11 km from the Mike Zubko Airport in Inuvik.

Driving Directions from the Airport

  • Exit the airport and turn left onto the Dempster Highway (NT-8 N).

  • Continue for 9.5 km, then turn left onto Mackenzie Road.

  • The Arctic Circle Inn is approximately 0.5 km down the road on the right-hand side.
